To configure/patch Linux Yocto kernel for VIRTIO we use so-called advanced metadata (https://docs.yoctoproject.org/4.0.1/kernel-dev/advanced.html) which mainly constitutes of scc/cfg/patch files.
At the moment, this data is stored locally in meta-agl repository:
https://gerrit.automotivelinux.org/gerrit/gitweb?p=AGL/meta-agl.git;a=tree;f=meta-agl-bsp/virtualization-layer/recipes-kernel/linux/linux-yocto/virtio-kmeta;hb=c3d3ccd5a7af4add3697dbaeedad5164bd83335f
But this is an issue to support both release kernel version (like 5.15) and master revision. For this branches should be used. Of course, we may use two "virtio-kmeta" folder: virtio-kmeta and virtio-kmeta-master. But I don't like this much.
It would be better to have separate repository similar to https://git.yoctoproject.org/yocto-kernel-cache/tree/
I am thinking about naming it "agl-yocto-kernel-meta". Here I added prefix "agl-" to "yocto-kernel-cache" and replaced suffix "-cache" with "-meta" since I don't quite understand "-cache" suffix.
