Enhance images hierarchy and reusability

Description

It becomes necessary to make some cleanup in AGL images and try to setup a method for defining new images which inherit from other ones.

Discussion started on the mailing list

and continued during dev meeting held on 24/01/2017

Finally, I open this issue to discuss on the details.
