[h3ulcb, h3ulcb-kf, refhw] hwrng not initialized

So I did a proposal on poky mailing list in order to backport 6.11 recipe to yocto dunfell

a) Submit the patches to poky/oe-core for inclusion in dunfell first

b) when pending there, we can add appends in meta-agl. (link to list post)

 
Update to a different version has to be discussed with upstream first. We will not carry out-of-tree versions w/o need.

I did test backporting the 3 patches available there https://github.com/nhorman/rng-tools/pull/99/commits

and it indeed fix the isssue.

Please tell what is your favorite way to integrate them.

1- Add these 3 patches in a bbappend recipes in meta-agl

2- Add these 3 patches in a bbappend recipes in poky dunfell

3- Update rng-tools to a version >=6.11 

My opinion is that we should go for 1 and 3 proposal, given the time constraints we could maintain a fix in

meta-agl and then try to update rng-tools in poky master, when backport is done to dunfell branch we will be able to

drop this bbappend recipe.

 how do you want to proceed ?

I'm not sure if haveged and rngd can work concurrently and I'm not sure of the results. I mean: rngd complains about a slow source (jitter) and haveged won't solve the issue because the source will remain slow. The proper solution is to apply at least this patch . Given the commit message, this is exactly what you observe on lava jobs.
