As we'll be using the remoting plug-in instead of relying on the one created by the waltham-transmitter we still need to be able to use the plug-in to keep the entire bookkeeping of the wthp_surface and to be able to push the surface to the remote side (using the plug-in) itself. We need some kind of a dummy output that matches the one created by the remoting plug-in.
