After looking into this more the signal strength doesn't actually make sense for the current hfp profile (Handsfree) use case because A) ofono only reports signal strength with an active voice call B) and we aren't actually tethering from a phone for a data connection.

Phone signal status is out of scope for halibut. Actually it hasn't ever worked as there isn't any interface to the telephony binding for this.

It is possible to get this infomation via ofono but possibly would depend on phone vendor, and we don't currently tether to a connected phone so the information would be of limited use.

It is on when the bluetooth modem is powered up, and not nothing to do with connected device.
