kirkstone: html5 web applications fail to fetch npm dependencies in compile stage

Building the html5 applications using kirkstone is failing to retrieve the NPM dependencies. This is because, in kirkstone, by default, compile stage does not have network access. Our html5-* applications use npm install in do_compile stage to fetch the NodeJS dependencies.
