Can I merge R-Car H3/M3 with KF DRGB-HDMI port workaround into agl-bsp

Description

R-Car H3 and M3 with KF environment has two HDMI display port, one of the HDMI port directly out form SoC, another one of the DRGB-HDMI port using ADV7513.

In DRGB-HDMI port has resolution issue. That can use under 1920x1080@30fps. On the other hand, IC reference environment want to use 1920x720@60fps or 1920x1080@60fps.

If I use these resolution, displaying image will break.

I success to fix this issue.

But, this patch is only workaround.

This patch require to modify in kernel source code not only dtb.

In other R-Car Gen3 AGL official board such as h3sk/m3sk without KF and refhw was not using DRGB display output.

This topic discussed in last SAT meetings. This issue aim to share information.

yes, we are now checking. There are 3 pattern to apply, (1) meta-agl gerrit , (2) meta-rcar from Cogent github, (3) reject .

Indeed, KF has limitation max 1920x1080 i .  So we will continue to discuss it internally.

, have you heard anything from the Renesas kernel team on whether there are any drawbacks to applying this globally?
