Login to agl-image-minimal problem

Description

When trying to boot an NXP iMX 8 board with agl-image-minimal build with zeus and jellyfish I cannot log in as root.

When the login prompt appears  after typing “root” in order to log in nothing happens, I do not have the linux prompt. If I try ssh to the board it's the same behavior, after entering “root”  nothing happens.

If I am typing something else instead of root the password is required. When trying Ctrl-C I got  a restart on the Serial Getty as you can see below.

The issue cannot be reproduced as we do not use zeus on jellyfish. Please reproduce with only 'dunfell' branches and reopen if necessary.

"zeus and jellyfish" is an odd combination, as upstream AGL only used zeus for a brief period during development and switched to dunfell before the jellyfish 10.0.0 release.   Additionally, there is no imx8dxmek machine support in upstream AGL in any release.  If you're working to add support for that machine yourself, I would highly recommend that you consider using latest upstream AGL jellyfish or the just about to release koi (both of which use dunfell) as your starting point, as that would potentially make it more feasible to assist you.  If you are instead using a AGL tree provided by NXP, I would advise contacting them for assistance, as we are not really in a position to help you with their fork.
