I guess in real life, you wouldn't want to wait/have until the HMI starts up. Currently there's a short delay happening as the pslash is probably using DRM as a master. That will stop (pslash), and it will take some time until the compositor starts up together with the HMI.

Wondering if this is something we should have, make the transition much faster, or at least, keep the pslash still there, right before the compositor + HMI starts.

This is probably a lot more to discuss, but probably we would need to start the HMI as a client for the compositor, rather than having it as a widget as we have it now.
