Kernel configurations for Vivanti (imx8) GPU.

Description

I have some troubles with running weston wayland. after some investigation, i found out that the problem may appear from the kernel configuration as it didn't support Vivanti GPU driver in its configuration. and after enabling it i still have the same problem, so may be the kernel configurations for GPU is not complete or somehow not suitable.

Resolving, as there has been no update since February and this change:

adds a i.MX8MQEVK profile that uses Vivante for use as a starting point.

First of all, Thank you for commenting. I'm trying to port AGL ported on imx6 to imx8 and i don't know anyone who did it recently to ask. i think i don't have the right configurations for the kernel as i'm working on yocto thud (beta for imx8) while the stable one was sumo (not supported by AGL).

I won't lie, but i didn't understand many of what you said. can you elaborate more what did you guess as the issue or what can i do.

You will need to provide more details on what you're trying to do.  It is very definitely the case that the i.MX6 machine templates currently in AGL are configuring to use etnaviv, and I would not expect Vivante to work even if you hacked things to add the userspace Vivante bits to the image.  It's possible to tweak the machine configurations to enable building an image with Vivante, but ATM that has not been a priority for AGL.  If and think it's something that AGL upstream should support, adding an option to enable building it is likely not too hard.
