Renesas Porter Board
Hi,
I have already reported an issue with Weston on Porter SPEC-297. I am facing another issue with screen resolutions using AGL (from master branch) on Renesas Porter Rev 1.0 and Samsung T24D390 monitor.
I have tried using the following screen resolutions configured in u-boot environment and weston.ini:
- 1920x1080 AGL logo - FAIL, Weston -FAIL (blank screen although the systemd service has been started successfully)
- 1600x1200 AGL logo - FAIL, Weston - FAIL (blank screen; systemd service fails)
- 1360x768 AGL logo - FAIL, Weston - FAIL (blank screen; systemd service fails)
- 1280×720 AGL logo - OK, Weston -FAIL (blank screen although the systemd service has been started successfully)
- 1024x768 AGL logo - OK, Weston -FAIL (blank screen although the systemd service has been started successfully)
In all cases with blank screen my Samsung monitor reports "Resolution not supported. Change the resolution of the external device".
Yesterday Stephane reported in the mailing list that "porter boards are a bit picky when it comes to monitors and HDMI cables." I am not sure if this is a hardware issue or issue with Weston.
The fact that I am able to see the AGL logo for a few seconds before the blank screen with resolutions 1280×720 and 1024x768 still leads me to the idea that it might be related to an issue with Weston.
I have also tried using an HDMI cable attached to my old Motorola lapdock. I didn't get any visual output on it with any of the screen resolutions.
Best regards, Leon
