The top navigation bar (launch bar)  is missing on applications launched from homescreen, impeding going back to homescreen. 

This issue was originally created after the problem was  detected on the 'Settings' app, with the idea of adding a close button to allow  back navigation to homescreen; however, although it is a potential workaround, it would break the current design for applications where the way back is via launch bar.
