On Raspberry Pi 3 B & B+ the UI hangs after a while even without any user interaction

      Hi jsmoeller, all,

Today I noticed that the UI of AGL master on both Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and Model B+ hangs after a while even if there is absolutely no user interaction. Here is the test scenario:

      1. Boot AGL image on Raspberry Pi 3 B or B+ with attached HDMI monitor and USB mouse
      2. Verify that the home screen loads successfully and leave the system

After a while (different time intervals but always) the UI hangs and the homescreen freezes (it remains visible but not responsive). When I move the mouse the cursor remains on the same position, only the last digit for minutes in the clock flickers. The well know error log of insufficient memory appears in dmesg:

      [ 7614.994796] vc4-drm soc:gpu: failed to allocate buffer with size 16777216
      [ 7615.013687] vc4-drm soc:gpu: failed to allocate buffer with size 16777216

I am not sure how to fix this issue. jsmoeller have you experienced something similar?

      Best regards,
      Leon
